A stunning innovative band, I wish I could have seen them live in their early days when Syd actually turned up to gigs! I've seen them live twice, once at Wembley Stadium (Momentary Lapse tour) and once at Earls court (Division Bell). Gilmour is a true maestro with his two stage string bends an' all. The track "Wish you where here" has been noted to be played at my funeral in the very distant future, it's my all time favourite track of theirs. Steve...
a definate cd and very well recorded .... many use some of the tracks as a test track to test hifi: Roger Waters ... Amused to Death
oh yes, pink Floyd. the first and last of their kind. superbly written lyrics by waters and gilmour, and syd had a style of his own. they never did a bad album and since splitting neither have gilmour or waters. (waters opera was a bit of a let down though!) Waters pros and cons, radio chaos and (especially) Amused To Death is superb. never seen Pink floyd live, but have seen Roger Waters and he was brilliant. the Australian Pink Floyd is very good, they capture the atmosphere off Pink Floyd very well. yes, toast with marmalade......................
i have that on vinyl as well as cd. superb on vinyl and only 200 copies ever made. it was recorded in Q-sound, a kind of 3d surround but in 2 channel. the way they made the sound of the dogs barking! its like it was coming in from either outside or next door. every instrument and sound effect is superbly seperated in between, above, below and beyond the speakers. phenomenal

it was. i sold it when the little un was about 1 (2 years ago now) as i thought i'd never have the time anymore to listen and i was right!! i do miss it, but with another baby due in 2 weeks, it'll be a lonnnnnnnnng time until i have time again. i'll have another good set up again, but its way down in the list of priorities fro now. to be honest, with the exposed valves it would be dangerous to a crawling baby and inquisitive toddler hands would trash it so that was another reason it went. plus, the times for a dedicated hifi room is long gone, to be replaced with playrooms and kidz stuff!! (i wouldn't change it for the world!!)

move with the times .... get a decent DAC ... spotify premium, silver high breed Quintessence interconnects, some old hitachi LC-OFC speaker cable and a pair of old Mission 751 freedom speakers connected to your pc .... cheap as chips, and you will be blown away
Move with the times? Personally, I prefer analogue sound. Sure it has it's drawbacks, but to me, it sounds much more 'musical'
errr, not ta! Henry's (my son) got an old arcam set up in his play room, (Henry uses it for his nursery rhymes) its ok, but..... digital sound against a good vinyl set up is for me, waaay off. i'll wait for a good few years to get into it again.
me too .... however, when you get spotify premium with decent equipment, it costs you a tenner a month, you get zillions of tracks to listen to, and for a tenner a month, it's worth the effort and well worth £10 ...
