What jobs are we doing today in the garden ?

I have been to car boot ,only bought 3 hardy fuchsias ,lycesteria , and 2 others i can`t remember names of ,all planted ,fed toms,cues and beans.about to plant a big tub of dahlia tubers I found in shed and forgot ,found some copper tape so I will tape all lip of tub and hope to keep them going for next year,haven`t got a dahlia in front gardenslugs eating the growth before it has chance,

Mrs Al thinks it looks 'cheap'!! ( watdoessheknowanyhoo!! ) my house wall opposite the cream fence is cream so it ties in very nicely. the rest of the fencing is going to be black as previously decided.

 

Another lilly opened today so I have been taking pictures, like a woman possessed have to get them quick before the slugs and snails do, I think mine must have a secret rockets and homing device,because they always seem to beat me to it, I love lilies and poppies but both appear to be the favorite of slugs and snails

Was also told that my bamboo was "clump" forming, I now have evidence this is sooooo not the case I have a runner and its heading for my sedum

 

can't you dig it and put it into a big pot sunk into the ground?

 

I have been thinking about this, but I'm sure another post was inquiring about bamboo in a pot, they decided against it as the pot would need to be huge, at the moment the bamboo is in the front garden, basically all the rubble from having the drive done was thrown in, then slate thrown on top, I dug down managed to remove some rubble/ house bricks added soil then "plonked" the bamboo in, I think I will have to continue to research this issue, eg put in pot, or just re home, extremely limited on space

Well thinking back, the intial damage happened when I tried to throw my leg over the saddle to take grandkids on a bike ride,, The saddle was higher than I could kick my leg initially, but I managed, then with some sort of muscle pain, bagged up ten bags of builders rubble, only to find I can not straighten up, pure agony, when I try to straighten up, but I managed it, now it is pure agony trying to bend down or sit

I have put myself on Ibuprofen and co-codamol 30/500 only it spaces me out, I can not feel any pain though until they wear off :-(

Managed with great pain to feed the Tomatoes

When I start to "feel" my back I use a wheat bag heated in the microwave, (heat for backs ,ice for everywhere else ) take a rest as long as possible,nice cup a tea and a slice of cake ,as "freddie "says or used to, then at least I can get through to tidy up etc.
