    as addictions go,the rose temptation is as exquisite as it gets. Many of us in GC "suffer" unashamedley and we are always delighted to lure newbies into the Rose Garden,

      As well as the sheer number of petals, I think the texture makes a difference. The more soft and velvety the flowers are, the more they suffer because they're quicker to go to a mush. For this weather, you really want Izal rather than Andrex :thumbsup:

        Until fairly recently, my parents-in-law still swore by it. The rest of us swore at it. Grandad used to have a spare room full of the stuff - probably left over from wartime supplies.

        We couldn't afford Izal [that was posh to us] when I was a kid, so it was good old newspaper [possibly why I was able to read when I was 3!!]:snork:

          My husband's late Dad (RIP) always had it . Used to dread having to go tids there.
          As kids, I remember that my job on Monday evening was to cut squares of the News of the World and thread 'em through a tie of string. As times and fortunes prospered, the next step was Izal I suppose,
