        nah ... too much effort

        I have a client who is very 'kitch' ... she even has gnomes in her garden, and her home is filled with hundreds of 'knick knacks'/small ornaments

        I will drill some holes on the bottoms, and plant some pansies or daisies and place them in her garden

                Yep it's for outdoor use or indoor. I'll dig the receipt out when i get home tonight and let you know what company it was. I've been trying to get one for my back garden for years but found nothing suitable until i saw this one.

                Done a little tour of some East Lothian garden centres yesterday.

                The 1st place we went to was Strawberrycorner, just outside Musselburgh http://www.strawberrycorner.co.uk/ Nice little place. Good selection of dry goods. Not a huge amount of plants. Prices were average I`d think. Had some lovely Dahlias but didn`t buy anything.

                Next stop was Smeaton gardens http://www.smeatonnurserygardens.co.uk/ in East Linton. A lovely, quaint village worth a visit on it`s own. We had lunch in the tearoom set in the 18th century walled gardens and was excellent, home-made food. Not expensive. Average prices for the type of place. The place specialises in trees and shrubs with a selection of herbaceous as well. Didn`t buy any plants.

                Next was Merryhatton GC at East Fortune, near the old airfield. http://www.merryhatton.co.uk/ Modern and new place really. Has a cafe but didn`t use it. Bough fat balls for the birds. Not a huge selection of plants. Didn`t buy any.

                Landed up at Dobbies besides the Butterfly world on the Edinburgh bypass. No link for this one. We all know what Dobbies is like.

                Bought a few things from here. Got a hanging basket reduced to 3 quid :dancy: with actually quite decent quality of plants in it.
                Got a couple of Penstemon Volcano 'Kilimanjaro' for £12 and a hardy Fuchsia 'Garden News'. I`ve planted these three together in a big tub.

                Also got some more (surprise surprise) Dahlias. D. white, D. Orange, D. Melody Gypsy and Melody Dora. No pics of these as they`re not blooming too well yet :)

                All in all, it was a nice few hours killed on a Sunday. It`s a nice round trip of around 25 miles for anyone in the area.

                  You've been around my old stomping ground there Gretzky! My mum lives about half a mile away from Strawberry Corner.

                  Have you been to the air museum at East Fortune? Fascinating place that is well worth a visit if you get the chance.

                    I have indeed FC. I won a pair of tickets off Radio Forth some years ago. Just as Concorde was being set up there. Was impressed with the Lancaster, Mosquito and Spitfire fly-over

                      I've been exiled down in London for the last 11 years, moving just outside the London boroughs at the back end of last year. I was born and bred in Dumfries, but oddly still count East Lothian more as 'home' (suppose my mum still living there is the main reason for that) - I still miss Scotland to this day though, and think I always will to be honest - I used to love driving to work in the morning along Seafield Road and into Leith, looking out over the Forth.

                      In fact, quite often after work I would get a fish supper and go and park up just through Granton, and just sit and enjoy the view.
