watering ?

    it's been kinda average rain fall for this time of year but things are starting to get on the dry side...

    I would just let the hose run a trickle to soak them really deeply. Or one of those soaker hoses......

    Should be fine. Your plants will wilt if it's not enough.

    With the type of crops you're growing the watering cycle can vary.

    Melons and beans can get away with being watered heavily two or three times a week - depending on how hot your weather gets.

    Things like tomatoes, peppers and chillies need less heavy watering but more frequently. In hot weather they need watering every day (sometimes twice a day if they're in pots).

    You can usually tell if they are suffering from lack of water as the leaves go droopy. For them to occasionally go droopy is not a problem but if it happens too often then the plant gets stressed - especially tomatoes.

    You've had temperatures near 100f for a while.
    Take it your water companies allow you to use hosepipes?
    Ours didn't after a dry March. Our water companies are nincompoops.
