Willow does that. What you've done in effect is coppiced it:)

You could take up basket weaving and use the long, thin, very flexible new shoots for that.

Spread a rumour among the local youth that if you chew it you get high as a kite and hallucinate. Then they'll just keep stealing it as fast as it can grow.

Bore holes in the sides at an angle of about 45 degrees and pour in glyphosate systemic herbicide. You'll have to repeat the application several times over a few months but in time it will kill the growth.

Round up has glyphosate as the active ingredient. Other glyphosate based products are readily available off the shelf.

If you use Roundup mix it at about double or greater the recommended concentration. Last year I killed a willow using glyphosate. I wanted to keep the main 8 foot trunk in-situ as it supported a bird box. It took about 5 months to kill all the current growth and this year a few buds appeared from the bark but died off off fairly quickly.
Willows are a ..... to kill!

Give the glyphosate time to get down to the roots before you start sawing the trunk or it will all start again.

I find better results with SBK.Just dilute it 50/50 with water.
