But you'll never see foliage colours in my place John. With the exception of nature I hate the colour green! :)

Jack, I've supposedly bought Sungold from Suttons for the last three years, but the previous years fruits were yellow not orange, so something has been going wrong somewhere. I think I've still got my invoices so I'll check them out. :)

I've never knowingly bought Golden Sun, in fact this is the first time I've heard of them.

Hiya Jack. Just a thought, what makes you so sure they're Golden Sun? I believe there are quite a few varieties that are yellow, Golden Sunrise being quite popular...

Well, it was no good - I couldn't wait until I got time to make a sandwich, so I whipped one of the red-ish ones off, and have just halved it between me and the wee one. Far better taste that the supermarket ones, and a hell of a lot juicier! Just a shame that I am not going to see a decent amount of them thanks to the weather.

Loved it - but then she loves tomatoes anyway. Thankfully, tomatoes and cucumber are two things she really goes a bundle on - in fact yesterday morning when I took one of the cues to give to a friend at work, she was all disappointed because it was less for her! She soon cheered up when she saw the monster of a cue in the fridge.

Just going by Johns post #544 Sunday 10:46pm and the similar names
golden sun and sun gold his golden sun are yellow and the sun gold are orange

So if Sheal has been buying Sun Gold for the past years and they were always yellow then they may not have been Sun Gold but Golden Sun

              Poorly tomatoes
The ones on the left are Shirley and are fine, the ones on the right are Ailsa Craigs and the top branches have curled up

The ones on the left the only difference apart from variety is left is West Right is East
Ignore the Leeks leaning to the West (I have just pulled them from a cold frame today and stuck them there till I have cleared my tattie patch )

Any ideas, or what I can do, the top leaves seem to be OK

              Hiya Jack.

Curling of the leaves is quite common, and nothing to worry about. The dis-colouration looks like some kind of deficiency, maybe Magnesium? John (JWK) will be able to add more:blue thumb:

I'll just have to hope that my smaller plants come good during the Indian summer then.

Jack; as Freddy says it's fairly common to get that leaf curl. Dave W's link is a good explanation. So hopefully nothing to worry about. Are those discoloured leaves at the bottom? I nip off ones that look like that, again it's fairly common that the lower leaves go yellow and die off. Hopefully all the leaves above your trusses are nice and green.

I've lost a few leaves higher up on my plants. It's this miserable cold damp weather, mostly it's started by physical damage, i.e. leaves I've accidentally bent or bruised. Normally they recover but at the moment I'm finding some bruised leaves are going mouldy so I'm cutting them off to prevent the mould taking hold.

My toms like everyone elses are way behind, but at least got mini green ones on most of my varieties, I wouldn't bet on them coming to anything but still.
All of my Brandywine plants have trusses and flowers but nothing more and some of the flowers look crusty and brown but are in the same situation as the ones that are at least struggling along ... I've not grown Brandywine before, any ideas?

                    Cheers
