Following the topic from Robajobs yesterday...

Do your believe in Aliens??

... again keeping a long story short...years ago when i was in my late teens about the mid to late 70's - perhaps some of you may remember the time when it was reported in our area (West Midlands) of a lot of "Flying Saucer Activity" and some abuctions???!!!!. Walking home late one night from a gf's on a frosty Jan evening i always took a short cut down an alley way with a wall on one side and bushes/deralict land on the other. Towards the end of the alley - i heard a gurgling sound from some bushes. Must admit i raced to the end of the alley, turned round and looked back to see a shape drift along behind a wall/hedge - turn looked at me and ducked. All i could say it looked like was the "monk" in the old Star Trek Adventures from the 70's he is seen every episode in the opening credits...i did not hang around and moved rather quickly back home without stopping LOL. The alliens of the 70's were said to have Long faces, short around 1 metre high, and gaunt looking. Next day i ventured back to the site only to find that the hedge and wall only came to my knee - and for someone to duck behind it would have been only 1 meterish high. If you know what the monk look likes - could it have been an Alien...
...seeing is believing???

 

There are lots of other planets and solar systems out there (that we know of) and I think it's pretty arrogant to believe that we are the only planet that's inhabited. So yes, I do believe there is life elsewhere in the universe and it's quite feasible that they are far more technologically advanced than we are and have visited our planet

I've certainly got an open mind on the subject.

I only hope they treat their planet and its living beings better than we do.

 

I'd be very surprised if there wasn't life out there other than us. It's realistic to start on the small scale, on the bacterial scale.. if so it's almost 99.9999999% certain there is life in that form in the universe, and even in our own galaxy.

There are roughly 500 billion stars in every galaxy, and 500 billion galaxies in the universe.. the chances of life, and even intelligent life out there is very high..

However, will it be that intelligent.. probably not, unless there are other universes in which extra-terrestrial life can cross to and from (ie time is against us, as our universe is fairly young)

 

YES. There certainly is other life forms out there.

 

I am able to say with absolute certainty that aliens exist. I married one.

On a more serious note though, yes I believe there has to be aliens. The odds of our planet being the only one in the universe to support life is just impossible.

As for intelligent life, how do we define that? It seems to me that we always define intelligent life as being on a par with us, having similar motives and desires to us. I don't understand that, because we only have to look at our own planet to see that we are the unusual ones.

We often speculate whether we'll be able to communicate with aliens, and decide that if they're as intelligent as us, then we should be able to. Yet we've shared our planet with many other species since the dawn of time, yet we still cant communicate with them.

Now lets assume there are intelligent aliens far more clever than us. What if they're so intelligent they've already realised that life is simpler when you just focus on making sure you can provide food and shelter for your family, and everything else is just showing off. Or what if they're so clever that they know not to bother coming to speak to us, because of all the species on our planet, we're they only supposedly intelligent ones that routinely isolate ourselves off from all other species, unless we think we can use them for something.

 

I believe. We have tens of thousands each month coming to the UK. Usually from Eastern Europe or Asia, which is the strict definition, not from outer space though.

never seen one.... but yes ... I believe there is intelligent life out there ...

and I believe that they have (and still are) involved in visiting earth ...

there are rock paintings from thousands of years ago, in several different locations that show the same thing ...

I also believe that world governments are suppressing this info, as it will cause chaos (especially with the religious fanatics)

we are kept in the dark .... but I also feel that they can only hide it for a short period of time .... lots of changes will happen (soon)

 

How true, but not altogether their fault though. I really don't think that it's the governments fault either rather than us being part of a European 'super' state with agendas which we are forced to be part of and which today nobody likes.
