There are so many "strange" things happening in this world, according to the conspiracy theorists, that I'm not sure that there's any thing left to be normal:snork:

Cats glowing in the dark? Oh no, that's Sellafield isn't it.

There are so many strange things in this world, it would be terrifying it it stopped being strange.

What's the statistical likelihood, for example, of a collection of chemicals ordering themselves such that they form a living, breathing creature? What's the odds of a huge rock falling through space, yet held at an ideal distance from the nearest star by some magic invisible, intangible force?

Don't be silly, dim, old, well educated high ranking guys only got to that position by being paid to tell lies. I think he's an alien who's taken over the body of the guy....Well, it has happened before in America as they got Bush for President and he's definitely an alien.:snork:

Aliens could never visit here (not yet anyway), even travelling at the speed of light, + factor in evolution time, it's almost impossible and inconceivable.

The problem for intelligent life also, is how many extinction event happen on your planet. An extinction is a serious set back for intelligent life dont you know ;)

Well, on that basis, Stephen, we don't have to worry about an extinction event do we??!:snork:

Of course I believe in aliens. I live with several of them. Although whether or not I would class them as intelligent life is debatable. They have problems with the most trivial of tasks, such as putting their pants in the dirty bin.

Human thinking again. Our limited understanding of the laws of physics gives us an assurance that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Maybe our scientists are right about that, who knows. What if some clever green folk have figured out how to exploit the funny little space at a subatomic level where time and space work differently?

Or, what if in our limited human brains that struggle to comprehend 2 or 3 dimensions, never mind the four that we experience constantly (x, y, z, T). What if that's elementary for some other clever race, who know how to move about in another dimension, so then its not about travelling vast distances, but just a short hop.

On this latter point, I wonder what fish think when a sub goes past. I wonder if the fish is intelligent enough to understand its surroundings, and if it is, if it thinks the known universe is the ocean.

A bunch of men who would do anything to avoid facing up to their dirty laundry.
