Trying to think of a way of protecting my cactus & succulent plants in winter without insulating the whole greenhouse. I am pondering on the idea of covering them, on the staging with large polythene cloches inside the greenhouse, has anyone tried this?

I've done something like this before. Yes, covering individual pieces will help in lieu of insulating your whole greenhouse. Just ensure that you choose a good cover.

Wondering if condensation on plastic might be a problem ?.Would several layers of tented fleece be better.

I think fleece would shut out too much light. Would be fairly easy to lift the cloches & wipe them over, but yes it could be a problem with cactus!
