I often have recurring dreams too, I have always thought it was your mind telling you there is an issue which has not yet been resolved and needs doing so. But the recurring dreams I have never make any sense, and usually involve UFO's and spaceships.. why this is I'm not sure, I remember my first UFO recurring dream.. it was quite scary, I was about 7 at the time.

Big A, I'm sure that's what she would want you to do ... but perhaps you never had the connection with her in real life to discuss what would happen when one is gone.

We know people here and we have discussions about when the partner 'departs' be it dies or goes away. There is a split thought with some saying 'I would never go with anyone else again, even for company' and the others who say 'Life goes on for those who are still living' ... and myself and my t'other half are of that belief and would not want the other to be alone for the rest of their life.

Your memories can always be with you and no one can ever take that away from you. But that is not to say that you cannot carry on with life with someone else ... who, perhaps has gone through the same situation.

From the time I have known you on the forum I can tell you are a lovely man with a lot to offer and I am sure there is an equally lovely lady to complement you. xx

Throughout my childhood and up until approx 10yrs ago, I could just lay on a bed, close my eyes and almost instantly begin to feel as though I was rising out of my body. It is a very odd sensation and the only way that I can describe it is kind of like rocking gently backwards and rising slightly at the same time. I just used to bottle it as soon as it started and would stop.
My mind has been too cluttered for the last ten years, and I now struggle with any form of meditation.
I guess that the last time that I felt anything whilst sitting up and meditating was approx three years ago whilst sitting in circle. It was the oddest feeling to date, as I was fully aware of my surroundings and was able to see and talk, but my body felt as though it was being stretched like a piece of elastic, and it felt as though I was being pulled in two. Very odd.
As an aside, the Glenn Harrold series of CD's are pretty good for relaxtion.

Eddie, I can totally relate to what you said. I used to get the odd sensation when I was a kid too. I sometimes try to get it back but can't. Sort of like a sense of weightlessness or falling or spinning.

I also get what you mean about the weird sensation of being pulled in two. The last time I tried to meditate, which was about 4 years ago, I achieved the sense of having no shape, and then suddenly got the sense of being split into loads of completely separate, yet interconnected bits. More specifically, and this is the bit where people will think I've gone mad, I got the sensation that I was water. I've just tried several different ways to explain it, but can't put it into words. All I can say is it was quite profound.

I used to get a floaty sensation when I was a child.. I could bring it on with a certain mind set, it is quite a scary feeling.. it's similar to when you are drunk, and you lie back, but that can be quite a scary experience (usually feels like falling)

I can't even get that sensation when drunk anymore. I think it ties in with what I was saying earlier about senses being poor but the brain compensating. When you're little, you don't have enough experience to convince you that you're really not floating/falling. When you get a bit older, you do, but alcohol suppresses that logic, then as you get a bit older again, you have enough experience to know that even when drunk gravity is still the boss, so you don't get the floating/falling sensation at all. Its a shame really because its good.

              Has anyone ever tried this?

Lie down on the floor face to the floor with your arms streched out in front of you. Like superman but on the floor. Then close your eyes and get a friend who is standing up to hold your hands and lift them as hi as possible, gently though lol, strectching your spine backwards in effect - keep your eyes closed and hold that possition for 1 minute. Then your friend slowly lowers you back to the floor. If you do it right you will have an a very odd experience - not to be tried if you have been drinking though!! :dancy:...dont forget to keep your eyes shut!

I remember that trick Hydro. Its weird isn't it. It comes back down to that limitation of our senses I mentioned and how the brain compensates. Its because after holding the awkward position for a while, the brain sort of recalibrates and accepts that position as close to the norm. Then when you get lowered back down, the brain considers how far you've moved relative to where it thinks you were fairly straight, and concludes that you're gone through the floor:)

Its the same principle as once when I fell down a hill in the dark (while drunk). When I came to a full stop half way down, after tumbling head over feet several times, my brain lied and said I was on level ground, so I stood straight up, which turned out to be about 45 degrees, and promptly fell some more.

Another one is the invisible ball hehe but i think thats much more widely known, the one where you push out with your hands and someone else pushs in :snork: you can throw it at a wall and catch it too.
