    I disagree Pete, i just checked a few gun crime stats and apparntly alabama alone had 200 gun shot deaths in 1 year. Alabama has a population of 4 million as aposed to the UK with a population of something like 70 million where in one year we had 7 deaths from gun crime.
    I chose alabama as an example as it was the first state on the list in alphabetical order.

      The Americans stance on guns is clearly ridiculous. It will take somthing profound like a President getting shot for them to change things....oh hang on.

        Errrrr, are you sure about that, Robajobs???? They've had several Presidents shot and assassinated............and nothing has changed. Charlton Heston [one time President of the American Gun Association]is famous for his quote saying that his gun could only be taken from "My cold dead hand".

          Whenever anyone mentions Charleton Heston, I always think of Heston Blumenthal, or the Charleton Mackrell jug band song by the Wurzels.

            I'm American and am pro gun and pro death penalty. I grew up around guns, have shot guns, have had gun safety classes when I was around 14 and most people I know own guns. I owned a gun before I moved over here. I don't know anyone who was shot or anyone who shot someone else.

              I think its one year since that nutter killed all those people in Sweden.
              He also blew up a few places.
              The US does not have the monopoly on twits, or nutters with guns.

              We however do seem to have our fair share of foreign terrorists that come and go as they like.
              The EU says we cant deport them, put them in prison or hang them.
              Yes, we have our fair share of twits also, but ours make the laws.

                Its like gang mentality though, everyone else has guns so i need a gun. Everyone else is in a gang so i will be safer in a gang but its not true if your in a gang you stand more chance of getting hurt just like if you own a gun you stand more chance of getting shot. If someone wanted to rob you and they knew you had guns the clever thing to do is turn up with more guns where does it stop??

                None now LOL! Not legal here. I had an old rifle. No idea what caliber etc. I would get a hand gun if I ever moved back. I'm not REALLY into guns though, I just grew up with them around me and have a comfortable respect for them. My Dad also used to reload all his ammo which was kind of interesting.
