We were over-run with the blighters on Saturday - nothing since. Funny how they only seem to appear for one or two days each year?

Well had a closer look at the magnolia tonight and when pulling some of the branches/twigs back they snapped!
There are some green leaves on it but not many.
Scraped some of the bark back and lots of dead wood, so cut all of the dead wood out and it's not left many branches.
            :cry3:
Will see how it goes from now on.

Ok so i'm a bit 'nerdy' but for the last 10 years or so i've kept a diary of when the ants 'flew'....i could almost tell you the hour they went but over the last 3/4 years they have caught me out....if i recall rightly it's usually the 21st to around the 27th they go....the weather patterns these days have altered things some what....that's what i blame it on...if you look to the skies and see loads of seagulls floating around....thats the signall :dbgrtmb:....(easy take away for them)....
Since keeping chickens it's a yearly event for them ....imagine the Benny Hill tune...(where it's speeded up and he's been chased by women)the chooks go crackers for them:chicken:....
Don't forget to look up...you can see the birds picking them off:dbgrtmb:

Wow. That 'ain't nerdy Loli - that's smart. I never knew all that but I do now. Laughing at your Bennie Hill analogy!! A video of your chooks with that music would be priceless!!

My wife and I kept a gardening diary up to 2001 and it's good to go back and see what was happening in the garden years ago. I didn't keep a check on the ants though:heehee:

I've dug up a Wisteria which I planted last year and donated it to next door neighbour. I couldn't believe how deeply it had rooted in just a year and how hard it was to dig out!

I'm sweating like a nun in a field full of cucumbers :loll:
