    Just in case these weren't seen in the General thread, here are the 'evictees'

    The one on the left was one that snapped, but has new growth from the end of a truss which looks like it is doing well?

    The one in the terracotta colour pot had quite a lot of root like growth on the stem, so I sort of curled it around a bit to shorten the height, and to hopefully give an even better root system. I'm kinda hoping that I'll see some red ones from these soon

    I don't think that Tescos have got anything to worry about FC do you? It's been an awful lot of faff so far and they couldn't afford to buy mine off me !!

      Their profits are definitely safe this year - I had to buy lettuce, tomatoes, radishes and spring onions yesterday; at the start of the year, I really thought I'd be eating homegrown by now.

      The cucumbers have saved the day to a degree (giving them away now, to the delight of the neighbours), but its been pretty dismal otherwise.

      Think I'll do tomatoes outdoors next year and leave the polytunnel for the cues.

      Definitely looks like blight unfortunately, best to get them gone asap.
      If we get a bit more sun i`ll probably have a few spare toms to sell to tesco..and asda and morrisons :)

      Mine? :what:

      I have been working on the premise that its inconsistent watering, too much humidity in the polytunnel (its been proper sauna levels in there at times, with water literally running off the sides), not enough air space between the plants (they were admittedly crammed in) topped off by a good old battering by the poly as it blew in and out with all the winds we've had.

      Is there a sure fire way to tell?

      Are they looking any better now they`ve been outside for a few days? If its blight they`ll just keep on going downhill. Might be worth raising the hoops a tad to tighten up the poly as flapping will shorten the life expectancy, adding a few more vents will help with the sauna.

      I think there might be some confusion here. Having checked through part of the thread, there has been no suggestion that your toms are blighted. Zigs was commenting on his own crop.

          Well my outdoor toms have slowly started producing the goods over the last few days, whilst removing some excess leaves and side shoots I noticed a few pea sized toms....:dancy:

          I kind of feel proud of them for hanging on through the weather we've had, I might not get much from them but it will be treasured..:dbgrtmb:

            One of them (left in the pic) has some really nice looking new growth. One of the others has a fruit that is going a bit soft/mushy, so that has got me really worried, and in the polytunnel I have a proper mixed bag from tiny wee cuttings that look quite healthy, to other full size plants that look ropey (but have really good looking side shoot growth), and one that looks really forlorn.

            They aren't happy, that's for sure, but I don't know for sure what their problem is. I'll plod away with them for now - I've nothing to lose after all - but I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

            Over the winter, I will certainly be pestering you all on here for advice ahead of next year's attempt - need to give more consideration to variety and placement etc.

            My advice FC is to get down on yer knees and start praying for a better treetreetree
            Spring and Summer next year.
            And I know nothing but nothing about growing tomatoes,
