I remember WALKING 2.9 miles to School (we lived inside the 3 mile qualification for a bus.)
I am a 50's kid. We weren't molly-coddled then - but we roamed anywhere without concern.
Health & Safety would have a fit these days if what we got up to was repeated.
      It was fun though!:dancy:

I do, but I never really liked it.
Come to think of it, there are a lot of "old good" tv programmes*

*But I have to also admit, they are just memories, because when you watch some of them on youtube you soon get bored with them

Yes, he did live in a water tower, and had a pet frog called touchwood. (i think)
The one you are thinking of that is like Trumpton is the next town down, but which way? To Chigley or Camberwick green?

Lord Belborough of Winkstead Hall had the train in Chigley, on the footplate there and back again, under bridges over bridges.....(as sung by Brian Cant) They also had the 6 O'clock whistle at the factory

Camberwick green had windy miller who lived in a windmill and also went on to advertise porridge
