I have another family member with 3 flowers starting to open this morning, Watchyl Digital Scream, 14inch flowers!!!!! on that one the buds are ginormous(if thats a word ), it did have a couple of flowers open the other day but the wind ruined them :cry3:, they were lovely the petals twisted and curled, so watch this space later

There seem to be so many suffering this year Spruce, I've got them with tiny buds trying to open or the buds just going brown and dropping off, one of my favourites Lips of Fire has been covered in flowers but they're all distorted and blotchy, Edge of Darkness was the same, maybe now the weathers a bit better we'll get some better flowers, never known a year like it.
Glad you liked the monster daylily:biggrin: , I also have 'Watchyl Lavender Blue' which has been covered in huge flowers but they've not been opening properly, still lots of buds so hoping for better flowers very soon.

Thankyou Penny glad you like them
I was so excited yesterday, I have half an allotment that I got to grow on my seedlings and I went down for the first time in weeks because we actually had some sunshine :dancy:, only 2 seedlings survived from first attempt 2 years ago, the cold winter we had killed all the rest :cry3:, and one of the two had flowers!!!!! fabulous burgundy colour with really large spidery flowers that were all curly at the ends, of course I didn't have my camera but lots more buds, I'm even more excited now about all this years seedlings but they'll be safely tucked up in the greenhouse this winter, I'll plant out next spring.

And last but not least my first seedling flowering!!!! this is a cross of 'Star of Fantasy' X 'Iktomi', I grew loads from seed a couple of years ago but lost all but 2 to the cold winter :cry3: , its 4ft tall and would say the flowers are around 9inch across hard to measure as they're all curly, love it, its actually even darker than the picture shows.
