The red one looks like F.magellanica ("Riccartonii" probably as it's the most common).
The white one looks like F.magellanica "Hawkshead" - however, if it is in reality a very, very , very pale pink it's F.magellanica Alba.

I really love these pure forms!

          Thanks Longk.

I believe the Riccartoni was named after an Edinburgh man and there is a district of Edinburgh called Riccarton after him(surprise surprise:)).

I shall get onto the RHS I.D. site just now and bookmark these two.

          :ThankYou:

Edit to add: I can`t see any pics with Riccartonii having copper coloured leaves like mine. Could that be down to soil conditions or something?
Just checked and the white one has very pale green tips to the petals.

There are many Riccartonii varieties, hence the probably!!!
The white one is definitely Hawkshead then.

All superb Joolz. That "orange crush" is such a generous flowerer isn't it. All the fuchsias seem to be enjoying this less than scorching hot Summer we are having I think,

Can fuchsias be kept over the winter in a greenhouse/indoors, or will I need to take cuttings for next year?

Once again, none of us can prophecy the severity of the forthcoming winter. I'm gonna do the old "belt and braces" to avoid disappointment - if I can,
