Kohei Uchimora's amazing cranial and oxter thatch which seem to have a life of their own- if I can tear my eyes away from the rest of his totally fit bod. And I love his total inscrutability, what a cool customer!

Well done, our British lads for winning the gymnastics bronze team medal. Their mums must have been bursting with pride. I thought they performed and behaved superbly, extremely professional, sportsmanlike and no sulking at missing the silver.

A bit of a contrast with the women's team final. Teams 1, 2 and 4 all in tears at the end. I guess they are able to hurtle through space at lightning speeds but still haven't got the emotional maturity to keep their top lips firmly frozen when overwrought and disappointed. Seriously girls, only one team can have the gold, and rules is rules; try to save the tears for behind the scenes, it looks more dignified.

Bradley Wiggins, what a great ambassador for cycling and sport as a whole. Gets my vote for sports personality of the year.

Sadly, the majority people are only happy when being negative. That isn't just directed at the Olympics, but life as a whole. You never hear or read about the good things in life, only what goes wrong. A very strange perspective on things as far as I'm concerned.

              Didn't they do well?!

As far as I'm concerned, our athletes should be applauded, win or not. All that dedication to their chosen sport. Words escape me....

Seeing the final day of operations taking place after three months of preparations, and everything working like a Swiss watch really made me smile. By just after 8pm, all my Olympics stresses were over, and I now feel that I can breathe once more.

Hats off to the gold medal winners too :)

Just watched the mens' light weight coxless 4. Just a half a paddles distance between the winners and us. Soooo tight - soooo exciting! A brilliant 2nd /Silver for team GB,
                    Jenny
