I know what I'm 'going' to buy on Monday, hopefully ; our local florist had just had a delivery of about a dozen or so Canna plants, all looking very healthy, just coming into flower (a gorgeous very bright red/orange flower) and suckering well, they were about 4-5ft in height and just £5 each...:dbgrtmb:, unfortunately as they'd just come in for some reason the lady in the shop said they won't be out for sale until Monday???

Al n , is just a local nursery who`s actually near one of the expencive nursery and they have some really nice price......you should stay away :dbgrtmb:

Bilbo be careful if you buy cannas many are infected and they will infect you stock.

they had a really strange palm looking like a date palm but it was in a really small pot and the leaves where about 8 feet .
almost looking like that but really long leaves .

It`s the garden center in willington , no frost Gc the other called home and garden ,
I think it`s about 45 minute away from you , take the A1 get out at Sandy and follow direction to Bedford .
The Sale ends Today , but in big bulk they will give you discount.
            109 Bedford Rd, Willington, Bedford, MK44 3PR.
I think from tmw they are starting the bulbs season , another sale at the end of October and then January sale again.
I highly raccoment this place if you are looking for some good bargain.

Well I wandered down to the florist mentioned this morning to buy the Canna and was getting slightly worried by the fact that I passed three people carrying them, surely they must have some left, there were about a dozen or so. When I got there i found three left, so I quickly chose the best of the remaining plants, paid and came home - happy days :dancy:

Not sure on the variety? as the label just simply has Canna on it, the leaves have a purple/bronze tinge to them and the flower is bright orange/red (the photo doesn't do it justice)

No doubt it will turn out to be a domestic sin, punishable by hours of washing up ...

Some Begonia Rex I "Couldn't afford not to have" ... and a couple of Stretocarpus that found their way onto the order from somewhere! (From Dibleys)

I was thinking the Begonias could bed-out in the shaded part of the Exotic garden next year. Streptocarpus - I only own one, that's clearly not enough!
