    St. Judes Chapel, Andreas.

I thought you might like to see something a bit more up to date Ziggy. This is one of my favourite 'churches' on the island. It was built in 1839 and designed by a John Welch, apparently in Romanesque style.

The government wanted to demolish it but the local residents got the cash together and had it restored. :)

Thanks Penny. I'd forgotten you liked to see our old buildings, this one is a lot younger than most. :) I was so distracted trying not to get run down when I was taking the pictures, I didn't think about checking the door to see if it was open. Next time I'm up that way........

          Thats interesting Sheal:dbgrtmb:

Those 4 Turrets look like they are nearly, but not quite big enough to have spiral stairs inside.

I would think you are probably correct in your assumption Zigs that they are big enough.

The turrets are under 4ft across, you can make a comparison by the gravestones close by, so no they're not wide enough for a staircase, also taking into account the thickness of the stone.

Unfortunately the pictures don't give you an idea of it's size, but remember it's a chapel and not a church, so it's a lot smaller. :)
