Great photos everyone.:dbgrtmb: I love all the colour.

ARMANDII, your Hydrangea Annabelle has much darker leaves than ours.

I've been widening part of one of our front borders and here are few views of it

The Nandine is getting ready to open and seems to have enjoyed this year as it has lots of flowering heads
      P1130388.JPG

and this potentilla is gradually coming into full flower - a very rewarding plant because it flowers for a long time and the leaves look good all winter.

I'm growing Annabelle, but also Incrediball(sp?) which is supposedly "bigger" - I'll let you know if it can even hold its heads up, esp. after rain, in a year or two's time :)#

        Catchy name, so I "couldn't-afford-not-to-have-it" ... I'm so weak!

        Mr Shiney,
being a bit pedantic here - are you widening or deepening your border?

Rain does tend to make it droop so we run twine around the outside. The main stems are soft as it gets cut to the ground each year.

I'll be interested in your Incrediball :heehee:

Nothing wrong with being a pedant . I'm one step down from that - a peasant :snork:.

I'm widening it - from front to back. Otherwise I would be lengthening it. :heehee:

If I was deepening it I would be digging more :lunapic 130165696578242 5:.

What a wonderful language we have! :dbgrtmb:

            Said Queen Isabella of Spain
I like it just now and again ...
            But by "now and again"
I mean "now" and "again and again" :)

As the plant has multiple stems we run twine, or string, around the outside of the stems and tie it in a circle around them. As the flower heads are all around the plant they pull their stems in different directions and, therefore, support each other.
