My tree lillies. 3rd year (I think), they were planted-and-forgotten (although I have treated them with Provardo for Lilly Beetle this spring, last year they were eaten-alive).

I'm not advocating neglect! but these seem to be doing reasonably well so far.

        Hiya Kristen.

They don't look that tall? Were the bulbs of a good size when you planted them?

They are about 4' tall I reckon, either camera has made it look less, or you were expecting them to be taller?

Yes. Mine reached that height, probably in their first year, after planting

Edit : In their first year (I planted them in spring, and flowered the same year) they were around 3ft tall

OK, they're small then ... or weren't Tree Lilies after all :(

I think they are showy though, so they can stay!

Sorry, none taken! I *think* I bought them as Tree Lilies, but there again I've grown them with zero TLC and last year they were ravaged by Lillie Beetle and cut-to-shreds. This year I've grown them a bit better (no Lily Beetle and at least they've had some water!!) ... so maybe they were knocked back last year.

Or maybe they were sold as Tree Lily - but weren't ...

But they'll do where they are! They are more showy than my regular Lilies (which are probably Regale or somesuch), so something different to them I reckon.
