I have just collected seed and sowed them under glass this afternoon. Did I do wrong ? What will happen to them ? I have saved a few in case.

I've now got some in the greenhouse and outside. It will be interesting to see what happens.

We were away for a couple of weeks so I left the seed tray outside (just to catch any rain) and now coming back from our hols,I would say that 90% plus have germinated, these were the Red Hobbit that were sown in early July :)

So I am assuming that these are herbaceous and they will die off in the
next couple of months and come back next spring?

The plan was to let them grow a bit more, replant them into a larger
tray and then over winter the tray outside (rather then in the greenhouse)
and then maybe plant them into their final home late next year, ready for the flowering the year after......or would growing them now mean that they will flower
next year? I am guessing not as the plants are still very small, so just wondered
what other people have experienced sowing them in the same year?

Ive sowed mine in July, they are starting to grown now. I sprinkled mine over 10 pots, with no greenhouse or heating and normal compost in a shade area at the back of the shed which gets about 1 hours worth of sun. I really cant be bothered to transplant every seedling so i just let them get on with it in each pot. Even though ive got about 20 plants in each pot, i leave them, let them fight it out and one will always live and take over the rest. I then have my 10 plants for next year.

Intel, i would just leave them in your pot, grow them on then plant out next April.
