Or Amorphophallus albispathus - a dwarf form ideal for the greenhouse shelf.

How new? Do you have greenhouse heaters, sprayers etc sorted yet? What have you grown before?

In my opinion then your best bet will be to go on a bulb hunt in the spring. I'm working at the moment, but this evening I'll chuck a few ideas your way. In the meantime, consider going exotic and unusual as opposed to tropical.

I have seed somewhere for Fuchsia procumbens................

It's unusual as opposed to exotic/tropical, but would be ideal to grow in the greenhouse this first winter.

I'll check out what other seeds that I have later for you.

    Zantedeschia aethiopica.
Various colour forms (the standard white, pale pink, pale green) and some forms get bigger than others.
