Resurrecting an old thread to say I'm going to Hyde Hall tomorrow! Must remember to take my charged batteries for the camera and cross fingers that the weather holds.

Only about ten times. Depending which site you look at it's either going to be cloudy until about 8 pm or it's going to be raining lightly for most of the middle of the day. We could be spending a considerable amount of time in the cafe and the shop.

We go to Hyde Hall quite regularly. Remember to take lots of money with you as nothing is cheap in that place.

I used to live a few miles away from Hyde Hall and never actually visited it, I've obviously missed out. Why is it that we tend to overlook the places on our doorstep?

It's a brilliant place :dbgrtmb: - but don't take your moneybox with you.

Have a great day. Even if it rains, and I hope it doesn't, it's worth walking round with a brolly. You can also get good photos in the rain

It's lovely there, and I could have easily blown £100 in the plant centre but managed to limit myself to just over £30. Bought a Crocosmia Buttercup, a Viburnum Tinus Spirit and a Perovskia Blue Spire to replace the one I accidentally strimmed in the spring and which never recovered.

We were lucky with the weather, just a light shower before and after our visit. Lots of yellow and purple (sorry, should say blue, shouldn't I?) around and obviously some of the plants now past their "best". Will certainly visit again - quite possibly in a couple of weeks after payday! :heehee:

Just a few photos attached to give an idea of the place.

I'd never been to Hyde Hall before, despite it being only an hour's drive away. So today we enjoyed a sunny Bank Holiday (yes, really) looking around the place.

More from Hyde Hall. Considering the relatively exposed location, they grow an impressive range of plants there and the views across the Essex countryside in the background add an extra dimension.

It's a lovely place Trunky! All the years that I lived in the area I never visited it. :doh:Looking at the last picture I'm glad I'm away from the 'Rape' fields! :)
