    Afternoon all.
Thats the marmalade made and bottled. Should last for a few months.
Weather today is a bit of this and a bit of that.

Had some bad news from my son in Bangkok.
He was bitten by next doors dog and has started rabbies jabs.
The dog does not show signs of rabies but has not had the vaccination, hence the precautions.
Fingers really crossed that all will be well.
He has today had the second one and he is saying it really hurts. Seems the jabs get worse before they get better.

Spoke to Mark a short while ago and he hurts all over from the jab. Due another on sunday. Seems the stats are no one has died if you receive the jabs quickly and before symptoms show. If however the virus kicks of first then only three across the world are known to have survived.

It's difficult not to worry Capney, but he's done the best thing by getting the jabs promptly. The pain he has now will go away and it's much better than the alternative. Fingers and toes crossed, but I'm sure he will be fine. :)

Sorry to hear that, Robert . Wish him better for us

Are they having the dog tested for rabies? That's the quickest and best way to go as, if it hasn't got it, the treatment can be spread out as the normal immunisation timings instead of the post infection timings.

He obviously got treatment almost immediately so he should be completely safe as, I think, there hasn't been any record of complications in situations of quick treatment.

Unfortunately, the side effects of the treatment can be pretty uncomfortable. I seem to remember that about half of the people treated get swelling and pain around the vaccination site and there can, commonly, be feelings of nausea accompanied by headaches and upset tummy. He shouldn't worry about this but if it gets bad he should go back to the doctor (they don't stop the treatment, unless the dog is found to be clear, but can relieve the symptoms).

I'm sure he will be fine, chances are that the dog doesn't have rabies.

What a worrying time for you all. I hope you get some better news soon - there's a very good chance the dog was not infected.
