My first lots of blooms failed to set fruit, the next ones set fruit but they failed to grow to any size, but the last lot now appear to be making some headway:

I could have sworn my biggest tom was starting to ripen last night, maybe I'm getting paranoid? After checking this morning, all is well, it's still green but growing very slowly!

I'd estimate it's well over 1lb in weight, I'll try and get a piccie tomorrow

I tried that one last year with this tomato, but nobody seemed to get the joke

But getting get to big toms, I've now started measuring girths rather than max diameters:

                  tom 14 inch.jpg

So no quite at the 1lb mark according to the guidelines I've checked out in the past (originally posted above).

Being such a rubbish year, I'm now going to start feeding anything other than 'contenders' with tomato feed to bring them on for seed saving. It doesn't matter whether the seeds are saved from either a giant or small tomato from the same plant - the genetics are the same.

I don't think my big toms will be getting much bigger as I've now discovered blight in their polytunnel.
