RHS announce it is ILLEGAL to use coffee grounds around plants to prevent slug damage, as it has not been approved by the EU

    Yeah OK :love30:

Yep, Radio 2 picked up on the story too.

Like i've said in previous threads, one of our government ministers said it would be highly unlikely that they would be prosecuting anyone in the uk for spraying greenfly with washing up water.

I have visions of Oscar Pretorius like frogs hopping around the garden.

I don't think they'll be prosecuting anyone for using coffee grounds either. Who's going to police it? It's ridiculous!

So just use the Grounds for feeding the plants (all round for maximum effect)
Obviously that's not in contravention of the EU order.
If the Slugs find it harmful, that's just an unfortunate side effect - entirely unintentional on the part of the Gardener.

Good god! Almost in the same class as when the powers that be tried to get our fishermen to wear hair nets while battling the waves in the North Sea etc. You'd cry if you ever stopped laughing.
