    For all the coal heads on here:snork: A few pics around the pumping station on the Somerset Levels.

    This Girt Beast was an emergency generator in London during WW2.

    And the steam engine inside that did the pumping (The new one is electric)

    For those that don't know, the levels are man made, water is pumped out into Girt Drains to keep them drained, they would soon be reclaimed by the sea if it wasn't.

    Not much on the Levels is actually level, the peat shrinks & heaves.

            Hard to tell without a Datum Sheal, but its the brick bog thats on the lean:biggrin:

            The one we had when I was knee high to a grasshopper looked a bit like that although it didn't lean and there was a gap top and bottom of the door. It faced east and was freezing during the winter. :heehee:
