    Call me a thickie but what's the trouble with using coffee grounds to deter slugs? It's all waste isn't it? Would the same go for eggshells as well? (That was rhetoric)!

    I might be being too suspicious, but I find it a bit lucky for the chemical manufacturers that a law was passed making it illegal to use any "Untested" pesticides & herbicides.

    Knowing that its expensive to do the tests & therefore traditional remedies, which can be made up at home (no profit in that) would be highly unlikely to be tested:th scifD36:

      Scorpio, it's all about "power"; because the EU have not "passed" it as safe to use as an agent against slugs, we're not supposed to do it. Nanny EU knows best :heehee:

      Just a small point, the hairnet thing was just a Newspaper story begun to see if silly Editors would believe anything and they did.

        Oh dear, No!!! :nonofinger::nonofinger::nonofinger:

        Rubber boots haven't been approved as a pesticide :sad: . But you can use them for firming the soil down :dbgrtmb:. It's a pity that the slugs and snails can't move quick enough to get out of the way :dunno: :snork:

            I've done things like that. Just ask one of the lads if they've heard anything about the trackers the office were thinking about putting on everyones van. Then sit back as the rumour charges right round the firm:snork:
