Very inventive Eddie - so many unusual rustic features in your garden. Great ways to give the fallen trees a new life.

 

A few more things.

An old washing machine/tumble drier drum used as a strawberry planter.


A dustbin lid as a water trough for birds etc.


A bird table made from more waste wood.


And 'Mega Swing' which was made from wood that comapanies could not sell for retail due to being to bowed. The purchase of all wood, rope, and metal work came to £60.00 Not bad given the size of the swing.

How about this..



At some stage in the future I have tons and tons of soil to sieve on the veg plot and after seeing the cost of the Sheppach trommel/sieve and the lack of any more on the market, I have decided that I may as well make my own.
It may or may not work, but I already have a belle cement mixer and figured that if I got hold of another drum for it, cut it down in size a bit, then either drilled loads of holes or slots into it and away I go.
The drum was being thrown out by a local plant hire company, so the only cost will be time. It has to be worth a try.

I'm thinking of doing something like this. Unfortunately I don't have access to as much wood as you do. What wood did you use to clad the shed in? I was hoping to clad mine in broken up pallets but other half is against the idea. Perhaps doing the same with the floor too. In your opinion is this a bad idea?

I currently have some 3x3 which I was going to use to put my flooring on and an old window donated from my nan. I want to make this using as much reclaimed wood as I can, so if you could give me some tips that would be great.

 

Today I had few hours off at work and made a cat bed out of 2x2 off cuts.


i was thinking to put some catnip on the top pot .

 

That's beautiful sal73. How did you construct it to obtain they lovely shape? I can see a dried flower arrangement spilling out of that,

 

very simple I`m a joiner , need chopsaw , belt sender and bendsaw.....not a diy project.

I carved the eyes to fit each socket from some very hard and knotty seasoned oak, then polished them up, burnt them using a mini blow lamp, and then finaly put a clear lacquer over the top.

 

*feeling humble, awestruck and a shedload/woodstack of "I'm not worthy-ness" *

 

I now have the perfect idea for the mount.

It has been bugging me for ages, and the only thing that I could come up with was this stainless steel rod, which just does not do it for me.



It is amazing how one thing leads to another and the idea has fallen straight into place.

I somehow need to construct a series of steel waves, and have the creature mounted to one of them as though cresting the wave.
