Thinking about getting b&b up there when the grockles have gone, be nice to chill out there with a bottle of wine.

Great pictures Ziggy. :dbgrtmb: I liked the old bridge, an unusual design. :)

That used to be the 'free' way into the Castle Grounds many, many years ago.

P.S. I've heard the first of the 'Autumn Run' of codling have now turned up at Dunster Beach.

I always B&B at The Old Ship Aground, Minehead when staying around that way - a good traditional pub with good beers and only a few minutes walk from the beach/harbour enabling a session before breakfast or after a sesh in the bar of an evening, if choosing dates when the tides are right.

I've got single parent membership of the National Trust now Scrunge, so I can go thru the front gate:biggrin: I've had my moneys worth just with parking alone, suprising just how many small NT seaside car parks there are.

The ones I use most that way are Bossington (for fishing on the beach) and Horner (for walking though the woods/visiting the tea gardens):

Hollywell Bay, I remember taking the kids there when they were young/toddlers. Got a pic somewhere of two of them padding in a blow-up dinghy. In more recent times, we used to take our 'tourer' to Trevornick, just up the hill. Very nice too, with three fishing lakes and two golf courses:)
