Thanks Joolz! This winter is easy - next winter may be more tricky if it grows quickly!

The wind has been awful here today, goodness knows why, and I got fed up chasing fuchsia cuttings that were blowing about the garden - so, I gave up and brought them in.

I've put them at the shady end of the polytunnel, which doesn't close now, so its not going to get overly warm in there - I just thought that had to be better than them getting battered about the garden.

Anyway, here they are in their new home:

They all look tickety boo and relieved to be in a sheltered haven for a while. What a weird day weatherwise. Suddenly gone very dark and extremely windy and I KNOW the heavens are going to open up any minute now!!

Its been doing similar on and off all day here - decidedly chilly at times too (so much so, I have dragged the biggest of our three 'standby' oil filled radiators into the house just in case we need a wee heat later on.

Forecast I saw earlier is predicting an overnight low of around 9 degrees in this area - just as well my cucumbers bit the dust last week or I'd be tying myself in knots trying to protect them for the night

EDIT - Raintoday is a handy wee site to see what clouds are heading your way.

Thanks joolz. I take it that these will be quite happy to be overwintered in the greenhouse without any heating along with my other baby perennials? Will they want watering occasionally, or simply left alone?

I have just taken all my pots of fuchsias and put into my greenhouse for added protection as temps to drop drastic tonight.

                  Thanks :)

The tunnel will be history in the next few weeks, to be replaced by a proper greenhouse - however, it looks like it will be too cold for plants so young? I'll have to clear them a space in the porch then, as it gets quite cold in there, but never freezing.
