What's looking good in August 2012

tell you what's looking good!! All the buds forming on all the Camellias. Lots of new growth too in the last 6 weeks. They have loved this cool, damp Summer and should give us some fine blooms in 2013,

Not East-facing are they? (I'm sure you know all about that, so just doing belt-&-braces check )

 

In the front,cooler garden Kristen but it's quite sheltered. Having said that, I have piccies with 8" of snow on them. It'll be interesting to see if this soft growth hardens before the frosty nights start.

 

But 'tis the sun on the morning frosty buds that does the damage, so best to have them on a west facing wall - as East facing will let them see the morning sun :(

 

I understand Kristen, but I have no west facing walls that I can plant in. The back patio garden gets too hot for camellias in the Summer (well, usually) so I try to spoil them a bit to compensate.

 

Opened the window a minute ago and took this. The bees are up and about and all's well at 9.32am this morning
