~ sweetpeas are a full time job!
~ do not plant sweetpeas with eating peas in the same bed (until I'm experienced enough to tell the difference)
~ spring onions can be transplanted when they are coming into flower and little ones will resprout from the base
~ ducks adore fresh lettuce (note to self: seal off the raised beds)
~ chicken compost is great but let it "rot" more before using; then *I* get to choose where tomato plants grow
~ pot plants need watering, frequently, to survive
~ day lillies do not flower the year after they have been transplanted
~ electric hedge trimmers are f.u.n. :dbgrtmb:
~ homegrown dwarf beans are delicious :)

Seems I've learned a bit about this gardening lark :heehee:

Thank you both  Can't believe just how delighted and pleased with myself I feel :roflol:
So, Sunday I shall cook a roast and serve *my* carrots and *my* dwarf beans on the side. I even have a few teeny cherry tomatoes I could roast (but, I can't take credit for those; they planted themselves  )

The toms are "your's" as well  otherwise you may have weeded them out. :)

With ducks and chicken I bet you don't get much problem with slugs. :heehee:

No, you're right there; I was very surprised to keep hearing of the massive slug problems this year ... just not in my garden :roflol:

Dwarf beans, Harry and it's my first time at growing them :ccheers: Actually, the very real celebration relating to these beans is this:
Mr Mum grew up thinking there were only two vegetables in this world; peas and carrots. Worse they "grew" in tins and their foliage was a paper wrapper. Sadly, we didn't meet until he was "tinned veg" institutionalised and the stubborn beggar could *not* be persuaded otherwise.
I steamed some of my home grown dwarfies and put them on his plate (alongside the cooked rabbit I'd culled and butchered myself: another 1st!) and ... *drumroll, please* .... he ATE them ... ALL of them :thud::hapfeet:

So yes, they are mighty tasty indeed :dbgrtmb:
