My nasturtians have been obliterated by catapillar but rather them than the tobacco plants. Was going to clear them but if I do then the butterflies will lay their eggs on the tobacco so I had better leave the remains of the nasturtians for them to finish devouring.

Mine are still in the conservatory, looking a bit limp.
Do they need to go outside?

All mine are outside with the exception of four which are in the open greenhouse with the tomatoes with plenty of air on them.
Have yours bloomed yet Poolcue? It certainly would hurt them to be outside now.

Yesterday I put my plants out on a stool and they have been nibbled by something.
The culprits could be my cat, flying rats or snails.
I think they will be returning to the conservatory.

I'm harvesting now, and this couple of months is the most labour intensive time.
I've around 500 plants to do single handed. Not even scratched to surface yet! I'll try a posts some pics.

The virginia will begin to yellow soon I'm sure. It doesn't go as yellow as Burley, but it's fine as soon as it's sticky and beginning to fade in colour.
I never cover my my flower heads. I just pick a couple of big healthy plants and wait for the seeds to ripen. What does it matter if they do cross breed? It saves you mixing tobacco!
