Your feeder reminds me of the "Little Chef" chain that used to be such a good pit stop. Nothing fancy, just a good old Ulster fry! They certainly all know where to come.:dbgrtmb:

The Chalkhill Blue has a load of spots on the under wing. (More like the common Blue.)

What struck me about this hoverfly was the stripey jersey!

Thanks Jenny but I just wish I'd taken more time to take the photo as it's not as sharp as it ought to be and it was the first time I've seen a hoverfly with the same markings as this one

I couldn't get my camera quick enough, but there was what I suspected as, a young Sparrowhawk sitting on my garden fence today.

What I really love is the detail that a macro lens gives you. My eyesight is nowhere good enough anymore to "see" all that. Amazon have just advised me today that my macro lens is on its way,:dancy:

You'll have fun with it Jenny!
A proper macro lens is great for revealing minute detail but when you get in really close the depth of field gets down to just a couple of mm and you have to use a very small aperture if you want to get maximum dof.

                    Hi All,

More visitors yesterday to my Laverta Fredrique and Sedum and Sunflowers. 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg

Sadly other than Cabbage Whites and 1 Red Admiral I have seen no other butterflies this year.

They'll make short work of your seeds Jenny. I just love the way these doves always stick together as a pair!
