Now near the end of the island's Manx Grand Prix (older bikes) the Ramsey sprint was held today. Although there wasn't a big turnout, there were still reminders of our biking past. :) No pictures of the sprint, sorry, due to a bad accident there.

:wow: That AJS is gorgeous! An old friend of mine had a 650 twin, and it was an absolute cracker - lovely noise it made.

The burgundy and beige ones in the fifth picture - are they Indian's?

I'm not sure what they are FC, there were bikes moving about when I took the pic, so was trying to get out of there way. I've sent them to my brother, so he'll give me an id soon. :)

Nice post Sheal . This is an interesting site showing old motorbike adverts from the 50's and 60's . For the fly boys there are also old plane adverts on the site homepage :dbgrtmb:
I don't think the 5th picture are Indians , they look more like a 50's continental mopeds , are the plates Belgian ?

My first thought was that the two bikes were NSU Quickly's but they aren't. My second guess was Zundapp, but that was also wrong.

        I'll get there.

It isn't Motobecane or Testi either.

Harry, sorry, I don't know whether the plates are Belgian. I passed a chap riding one of these in my car, it would have been quicker for him to walk. :heehee:

I had a look at the site you posted and the Greeves listing caught my eye. My younger brother bought one new when he was a teenager and they were built just a mile away from where I lived at the time. :)

I wondered about an Express Radexi, Hercules Corvette, or a Phillips Gadabout Eddie.?

Yes Marley, there were quite a few Triumphs and BSA's, also quite a number of Norton Commando's. The turn out wasn't as good this year, maybe people can't afford the expense of coming here at the moment.

My brother re-builds vintage and classic bikes, here's one he's started on in the last couple of months.

Great list of Mopeds Marley - I have never heard of them ! They do look like the Radexi though on Google images.
The "dream" bike when I was around 14 was the BSA Rocket. I have not seen one in years. I preferred Lambrettas , you attracted more girls with them

Nice one Harry.. The last BSA we owned was a 650cc BSA Road Rocket either 1959 or 60 I can't remember which year now..
It was Black & chrome with gold pin lining & black & gold teardrop tank badges which were correct as the round badges were for the Goldies.. I will try & scan some photos but the printer scanner & my pc don't/won't talk no matter what i do these days but will see if I can do it as sometimes they talk..!!
Just like this but black.. ;)

I've spoken to my brother about the bikes in picture five. At a guess, he says they are Motobecanes and probably French. But he's going to look through he's books and files to confirm that. :)
