I just saw it on the news - not really my 'era' if you know what I mean, but I remember bits of 'Singalongamax' and of course him in Family Fortunes - helluva nice guy.

    RIP Max

Yep, he was around all my life.
Cant say I was always a fan, but he was one of the oldtimers that will not be replaced.

I was never a fan of Max Bygraves, but sadly as people such as him die, there doesn't appear to be the quality of entertainers to fill their shoes.

I can't think of any current entertainers that will remain known to generations of families with any fondness. They just fall by the way side as five minute wonders. The quality isn't there.

Really? Oh dear :frown: RIP Max

Trust me to be out walking the chooks and quacks and miss the news. While I would never race to push the family of the sofa and nick their salt n shake to watch him, it was refreshing to catch him if only because you knew you wouldn't have any gratuitous potty language thrown in under the guise of "entertainment".

        Deck of cards, anyone?

Not many of us remember that lying S of a B Soldier Mum !

Marriage is like a deck of cards.in the beginning you need 2 hearts and a diamond.
By the end you wish for a club and a spade.

HarryS that is the second posting I have read of yours tonight that I feel is offensive, not funny as I suspect you think it is. Shame you are spoiling a lovely community by these postings.

Let me tell you a story...
We went to see Max at the Whitley Bay Playhouse.
I got into trouble for suggesting we should ask for a partial refund - because he hardly did anything.
Virtually every song he sang about 6 words and sat and listened to the audience finish the songs - i.e. "In a tiny house" - (a conductors wave of the hands and the audience took over)
He was a showman, but didn't seem to need a lot of effort to fulfil a performance - the fans loved every minute!

Moyra I cut and pasted a very lame joke on cards from another site and you find this offensive. And you think this action is really spoiling a lovely community ?
