Well here's my pond now (and clean might i add - after washing it out today!), and here's my little fish too!

We have only named two fish so far though.
Ghost and Loki - both are the shubunkin's, and you can probably guess which is which, especially when the 'Ghost' is concerned haha.

Sorry Pam, I missed your post. Yep, it's Tetra Fish Pellets that's floating on the water. The fish took their time to get used to it when I swapped over from flakes but love them now and if they're not visible when you throw the pellets in....they soon are:heehee:

My fish had the same problem ... until they realised they could passively inhale the bbq fumes to satiate their cravings. :fishing:

You'll need to keep your floaties somewhere frost free over winter. All my fish are called Bob as that's what they call each other, they seem to think I'm called Bob too. when I open up the french doors in the morning to feed them they all line up and shout BOB! (I can't hear them obviously as they're underwater. They could be miming and yes I am as mad as a bag of frogs)

Aw, well my goldie with the black tips to his tail (quite a favourite of mine) has sadly died. He seems to have got a fungus/fin rot when i was away on holiday, as my brother found him at the bottom with this fluffy sludgy stuff around his tail and it seems like most of his tail was missing. He managed to get some medicine straight away, separated him and gave him and the pond the dose but he passed soon after.
                  Only four little fishys now..

Sorry to hear about that, Elizabeth. It's funny how you get attached to some fish and the loss of them becomes personal. I've only got 6 fish in the pond and one of them is the biggest, being the last surviving members of the original fish to be put in the pond back in '93.
