These birds eat a specific type of seed and I'm not sure it will find what it needs in wild bird seed. Almost any type of bird will attack it, particularly if it's a larger bird, or has a natural nasty streak. Surprisingly, British birds realise that it's not one of their 'own kind'. The only parrakeet type birds that have naturalised here are Ring-necked parrakeets, but they are large birds and can hold their own in a fight.

    Nature can be so cruel!

    Thanks
Its a Fuji FinePix S2980 14mp 18x optical zoom although if you set the zoom to digital it's 120x. It replaced my Fuji s5600.

      Apparently love birds can eat.

      - Silver beets
      - Red and green bell peppers
      - Broccoli
      - Dandelion flowers
      - Corn on the cob or corn kernels
      - Chick weed
      - Banana
      - Apple (with seeds removed)
      - Celery
      - mung beans
      - snow peas

      Seeds
Niger, silver millet (not a millet spray), flax, peas, oats; you should also add some canary or budgie seed mix as well.

I am going to get some food for it at least I can try and supply it with some food.No harm in trying.

Can you tempt the Love Bird indoors?

I opened the front door once & there was a little yellow sparrow on the door mat.

He just said tweet (in fact that was all he ever said) Hopped inside & took up residence on the back of the armchair. He couldn't fly, but would hop onto the seat, then onto the arm, then onto the back, where he would glide back to the floor. He'd do that a lot.

Never had a cage for him, just let him hop around the house. He'd happily perch on my finger.

We just called him "Bird" to which he'd answer with "tweet"

Stayed with us till he died of old age.

I have only seen the Lovebird a few times and it will not land in the garden. I put out some peas, sweetcorn and banana to try and tempt it down but it's not interested. I have not seen it for a few days days I hope it's ok.

Thanks Zigs I wondered what it was.

The Mrs spotted this bird of prey in the garden no idea what it is. It was eating an unfortunate sparrow.
