    Scrungy, you making your own cider? :thumbsup: Do you use windfalls as well?

    I stopped mowing at 11.30 as it got much too hot. By 4.30 it was 88.1F in the Main Garden(about 31C). Down the veggie plot it's around 82F but hotter where I was picking beans in the sun :rolleyespink:. They don't like the heat and hot sun so the ones in the shade are doing better.

    I'll pick blackberries later. I've been moving the sprinkler around the garden trying to get the plants watered as evenly as possible.

    And that's my next job in the garden in the background - cutting kindling as it's starting to get chilly over night.

      I make cider, apple wine and pasteurise drinking juice, but this variety (scrounged enough windfalls for about 4 - 5 galls of juice) isn't suitable for cider or drinking juice (flavour's too overpowering by itself), but if blended with juice from other apples makes an excellent wine.

      I'm beginning to notice/attract every wasp in the neighbourhood!

        Taken and potted a load of Choisya cuttings. Cleaned the last of the trays and pots, now stowed for next season. Iris seeds also under way in my electric propagator. Stripped tomato plants of the last of there leaves and watered them. I've also tidied up the greenhouse.

          So far this morning I've watered my roses and washed out the propagator and some pots in readiness for some rose cuttings.

          Trying to have a think about what else I want to take cuttings off - probably some Fuchsias, although I may overwinter a few plants indoors instead of taking cuttings. Decisions, decisions.

          Oh and the lawn needs mowing but seeing as I am 'between jobs' I may do that tomorrow instead.

            Well, I've just spent a good couple of hours repotting some of the nearly dead plants I bought the other day plus potting cuttings from an overgrown pink which I posted about recently.

            I've gone through all of my seed packets, labelled 12 envelopes with the months written on them and "filed" the seed packets in the envelopes so I'll known what I should be planting and when.

            Lawn mown - d17yo son did it for me so I hope that still counts :heehee:

                A general tidy up and pressure wash ahead of our inspection tomorrow (lease renewal time, so hopefully they will be happy to keep us on!), and very shortly I'll be heading off to work. I'll probably look in here via mobile later on, keep me going til I get home (which will hopefully be earlier than last night which was half one).

                    Yep, same here, FC:thumbsup::snork:

                    Well, since I had mowed the front and back lawns, watered all the Tomatoes in the Green House, followed by the Cannas, Bananas, Dahlias and Cosmos, Palms, Fuchsias, Lilies, and small roses that are in pots, topped up the pond, and tied/trained the 7 climbing roses by the pond yesterday, I've had a quiet day today. So I've just wandered around from place to place in the garden, with a mug of tea in hand, and done a bit of pruning here and a bit of dead heading there. Having said that, at around 6pm I'll be feeding the Tomatoes and Roses with Tomato feed [that'll be the last time for the Roses], and then feeding the Canna's, Palms and Bananas with Miracle Grow.:coffee:
