There was a few choice words expressed have to be honest. Then a mad 20 mile dash to the apple store. These cuttings better come through now

I'm growing rose cuttings for the first time this year. I took some a couple of months ago which are starting to root - I took four and lost two.

I've taken some more cuttings today so fingers crossed :dancy:

Are they in the ground or in pots? Being Molly coddled or left to get on with it? How can you tell whether they've rooted?
I'd be out there - itching to give it a tug !! I'm too naughty to be regarded as a proper gardener.!!

Mine are in pots on the windowsill. The first ones I put in half a clear pop bottle. I put the cuttings right at the outside so I can see when they've rooted. The others have gone into pots in a propagator and I've put one cutting straight into water to see if that roots.

They are going to be mollycoddled somewhat :)

Thank you Merleworld, it's all beginning to sound feasible. Maybe we should all try and root one and compare results in 2013? I like the idea of starting it off in a clear container. That would dissaude me from being naughty,
        Jenny
