TOMATO 'GROWPOTS'

I have been given some 'Growpots' for growing tomatoes in growbags for next year. - Do any members have experience of these? any tips and advice?

Simply put, they are ring culture pots with their own reservoir.

I've used ring culture before and it involves putting the ring atop the bag over the plant then filling with compost, this extends the ammount of plant stem that is in soil. The tom plants will then grow more roots out of this now covered stem and help the plant draw up more nutrients/water, aided now with the reservoir on your growpots. All in all a good idea. But nowadays I just cut growbags in half and stand them on end to get the same result, or if planting in a border I just plant them deep.
