I know, I have grown them before. I live in a rented bungalow, my landlord lets me do what I want with the garden,so I am concentrating on vegetables. Also we are limited with space as I plant in the flower beds, currently one bed is full of blue lake beans dwarf and climbers. Sweetcorn, Spinach and Chard. Another bed has Enorma climbing beans. Then along from there is the last of salad crops. Then we have a few carrots, turnips and spring onions. Under the garage window, there are potatoes, a pot with slips that are growing from a sweet potato I bought. I also have onions and garlic just poking through. Under a Mahonia there is more spinach and chard. And there's more....but that will have to do for another day.

      Thanks all :)

Doesn't feel like we've made much progress this afternoon, but I suppose we've done OK given the two or three hours we had - all the roof bars are on, and all the braces. the doors are loosely cobbled together (no glass in them yet) as are the four opening window frames. We've also drilled the base and bolted angle brackets onto it, and then screwed it down to the wooden frame that is the base - I'll have to deal with the gaps underneath at a later stage once its all together, but I am thinking of using some of the loft insulation material that I have knocking about spare, wrapping it in thick plastic, shoving it under the base frame before screwing on the chosen wood onto the inside.

As for the shed, I want to turn it round at some point in the future, so that its doors are at the front like the greenhouse - this will allow me to have more room between it and the greenhouse (at least three feet between them); it was painted less than a year ago, so should see out another winter before needing anything done.

To be honest, its a cheapo shed anyway, so there is a possibility that it will be replaced rather than moved, particularly as it is all twisted because of sitting on the uneven ground.

Fingers crossed that it will remain dry whilst the critical elements of your project remain FC. Oooh and NO WIND either! Panes of glass flapping about .... :gaah: :nonofinger:

That was part of the reason we packed it in for the night - when we start the glazing (hopefully tomorrow), we want to finish it all in one go, then we are not leaving stuff flapping about in the wind.

It almost feels a bit like a 'right of passage' to becoming a gardener or something :snork:

I feel that was well put FC. You will love it all the more knowing it wasn't a walk in the park. Can you have imagined say, even 9 months ago, being in this Gardener state of mind?

Linaria 'Canon J Went' 19th Sept 2012 003.JPG I'm cutting up Margerine boxes for labels out in the sun. I'm taking Rose cuttings. And I'm going to prise one or two basal shoots from the wonderful Perennial that came from Aunt Rosie's garden. I have plenty of seeds for the seed swap too( both pink and purple). Linaria is my latest "passion". I would love a whole border of it !!:wub2:

Been dodging the showers and trying not to get blown off the step ladders to trim the conifer hedge in the back garden.....not a job I look forward too as I'm allergic to conifer sap and come out in tiny little intensely itchy blisters if I get any on my hands...:frown:, luckily with gloves on and a jumper I think I've escaped unscathed :hapydancsmil:

                  No, just a tad overweight..........................:heehee:

Sorry I wasn't about yesterday - we worked on until nearly 10 last night trying to get the glazing done, but only managed about three quarters (although that was the roof, the back against the fence and the side against the shed). We carried on today, and now apart from installing a pipe and some wire armoured cable for electric, and the ply coverings around the bottom of the inside, my new greenhouse is complete :)

                  IMAG0112.jpg

We have dropped one little 'clog', but I don't think that its going to matter in the short term - see if you can spot what it is?
