    so many memories of chasing endless butterflies like this one when I was a kid...
    can you recognize it?

      I think its a day-flying moth rather than a butterfly, looks similar to some of the 'burnets', but most of them are black with red spots????

      I actually have used the term butterfly but in fact it flies quite slowly and all suggests it could be a moth although I was seeing it always in the day mostly amongst grass ...

      Bilbo, you're right , it's a Nine Spotted Moth native of Southen Europe.
      Miraflores, I presume this was taken in Italy?
