I *am* a Royalist; and I also think that in these scenario's they should be left alone. Their entire life is dedicated to "public duties" (which encompasses the majority of their time) and, I believe, their downtime should be just that: their downtime and not an opportunity for invasion/exploitation. Or, as in this case, an editorial based on the balance of fines vs profits of publishing; that is twisted capitalism when it encroaches on someones privacy when they spend an inordinate amount of time in the public eye.

Having the Queen's face emblassioned on a stamp is one thing; having a potential future Queen's breasts plastered over the media in the form of titillation is quite another. On the one hand, permission was granted; on the other, no consent was sort! Therein lies the difference.

 

I certainly would not class myself as a royalist but I agree with Mum all the same. We might be paying them to fulfill a questionable role but we haven't bought the right to treat them like meat.
