Is that trader reliable and trustworthy? Their checkout page isn't even https (secured).

So it is. Either it was a brief glitch or more likely, it was a temporary outage of my sanity.

For any of you who may happen to know Binny gardens/plant centre near Edinburgh, a friend of mines grandmother used to own Binny house and grounds, the house had been in the same family since it was built I think. She bequeathed Binny House to the Sue Ryder Foundation probably for death duty purposes but that's a guess. Anyway Binny House was built a long time before toilets were available so the only option was a potty under the bed. Servants were sworn to secrecy and under strict instructions to keep any liquids for "garden usage" and discard solids. The owner at this time was renowned for her most wonderful roses and many visitors to her renowned garden asked as to why she was so successful..needless to say being a rather upper crust lady she was not going to give away her secret!!!!!. On a visit to Binny about 2 years ago to buy some very expensive Tree Peonies I related this true story to the now owners of the garden centre who were not even vaguely interested in my wee story despite me being the only customer in the whole place! or what the original wonderful gardens looked like which I was lucky to see prior to the house being sold.Oh well their loss as I've taken my business elsewhere. They seemed most awfully!!!!! grand, not quite sure why!

Can I put leaves directly into my compost bin, or should I put them in a black sack to rot down and add them later on?:autlvs:

If you add them in thin layers they should break down but any layer over about an inch thick will tend to form a mat which could take a while to rot. The black sack is probably your best option, that's what I do with most of my leaves and then add to our compost bins and heap when rotted as the higher carbon 'brown' helps balance the nitrogen rich 'greens'.
