I knocked the stickies on the head in April I think with the help of an ecig just like you Al I was on 100 rollies a day and just stopped but because of my health and the weather I found a new hobby making box mods which are just glorified ecigs with a bit more tec to em.keeps me busy and I think that helps keep busy and the mind thinks of something else and makes the past vices and cravings disappear.
    Well done Al

      Cheers guys and gals!!

End of day 4 and into the evening, a few cravings, but non to worry about, each of the cartridges are supposed to be about 40 normal cigs, not even close. I reckon I would have had about 10 tops at the equivalent since yesterday morn, and the mild cartridge is running out, and the normal strength about 15 cigs worth.
No way is it the 40 that they say. On that basis, the e-lites can work out a lot more expensive than what they say, especially if your putting the equivalent of the e-cig in your mouth instead of the fags.

All in all, chuffed to bits with myself, I wouldn't say it's a walk in the park, but I think because I've had enough of the smokes and latterly didn't enjoy them for a while, it has definately been easier.

Bring on tomorrow, and as soon as the weekend is up, I'm onto my second week :ccheers:

Quitting is expensive. For me it was more expensive because I was formerly on the rollies. As a smoker I spent about £10 per week. The patches cost me closer to £15 per week. But its cheaper in the long run, because once you've cracked it, then you're not buying either any more, and you can spend the money you save on a new pair of trainers, ready for the next phase, claiming your fitness back:)

          :blue thumb: thanks lazy dog!

Some bits of kit there, but tbh, I don't think the use of the e cig is going to be a permanent thing. I will be totally nicotine free by November. That is the goal I have set myself :blue thumb:

Hey, al!! Keeping you in my thoughts (and my heart!)

Bought an E-lite 2 days ago; tried one puff and it make me choke in the same vein that my first drag of a "real" cig made me choke!!! :noidea: Felt a tad unwell ever since  I don't see that as a negative though; I see it as a "reminder" of what I am doing to my body!!

From the cigs dh brought home a few days ago, I still have plenty left. I still resolve to smoke them; but, after they have gone and before "Stoptober", I shall be utilising the E-lites.

Perhaps! But the only difference between "Stoptober" and "Swaptober" lies within a vowel and a consenant (essentially!); the results, can be far longer reaching :dbgrtmb:

Hehe, I have converted 3 clients to the e lite, they're not giving up, but are substituting some fags with the leccy cig!!

Go with it mum, it made me cough at first, it's very dry. It's been a week and I'm not had a pang today or yest! Not using the e cig much over the last 2 days either!!

Apologies for being absent - computer probs (& on-going I think.)

Well done for persisting Al. Keep it going.

Mum - the first attempt can be uncomfortable, as you adjust to a new smoking method. You will adjust your draw to what feel right. To temper the nicotine, or make the smoke a little smoother you can remove the red arrow tab over the breather hole.
You can also alternate with Menthol - which I am told is much nicer than people expect.
As a non-smoker for many years my input can only be anecdotal.

Good luck to both of you and (hopefully) the many others who take Stoptober to kick the habit and make the world a (slightly) healthier place.
As a company that actually manufacture their own product, E-Lites seem to be the only e-cig that claim to have independent Laboratory certification of the content of the tip - which seems to be important from my viewpoint.
Like the "normal cigarette" - what are you ACTUALLY stuffing down your throat?
                    UGHHHHH! :yikes:

Nearly 2 weeks in and I'm over the worst I think of the giving up

Tried the menthol, and I must admit, not a bad taste at all....... But I'm using the e-lite less and less each day so on my way to be nicotine free totally.
