This year i seem to have spent most of my time moaning , groaning and cursing about my little vegi corner....First my spuds and outdoor toms got blighted, celeriac boulted, beetroot came to nothing, chooks got in and murdered some of my carrots and i thought nothing was going to become of my runner beans....yesterday i looked at it and thought....after all that it's not so bad...ok so not a huge success as last year but not a complete disaster:dbgrtmb: DSC02459.JPG

I'd love a wee fenced off area like that for veggies - looks smashing!

Everyone is the same this year Loli, many crops failed but I think everyone has had something out.

On Gardeners World, Monty Dons Tomato's got blight.
On Beechgrove Garden, they have had failed crops and/or miserable returns.
And I listened to Terry from the Rhonda on BBC Radio 2 the other day, his sweetcorn has not fully formed due to lack of sun/warmth.

I think if you managed to get any kind of crop from your plot then you have done well and just reflect that all gardeners have struggled with the weather.

BUT..If next year is half decent weather wise, can you imagine how good a bounty decent crops will be? We'll all be complaining next year saying "I have too much" or "its too big"

And what are you going to do with that 700lb Pumpkin next year?

        Steve...:D

Looks in fine fettle to me, you've even got flowers on your runners still. Also I saw inside your greenhouse on the Tomato thread, you have got green fingers loli. Us gardeners need to moan about the weather, whatever it's like it's never perfect :)

I planted my Runners in May and was going to pull them up in the middle of August as they were spindly things about 2ft tall...they've only come to life in the last 5weeks or so,didn't expect that:huh:....just shows ...never give up eh:thumbsup:
